Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty in Palo Alto, San Jose, and the Bay Area

What is a non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty (also known as a “liquid nose job” or “nose filler”) offers a non-surgical option for individuals who only want a subtle tweak or enhancement for their nose. The treatment involves injecting dermal fillers to conceal minor imperfections and create a more aesthetically pleasing and harmonious nose.

Most commonly treated areas with a non-surgical rhinoplasty

  • Bump on the bridge
  • Low bridge
  • Crooked nose
  • Scars
  • Asymmetry
  • Pinched nose tip
  • Drooping nose tip

Is non-surgical rhinoplasty safe?

While non-surgical rhinoplasty is safe and minimally invasive, it still requires the skill of a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon. Dr. Hessler is the trusted choice in Palo Alto, San Jose, and the surrounding Bay Area. Combining precise skill with an artistic eye, Dr. Hessler has helped many patients get the beautiful and natural-looking results they want with non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty treatment details

Non-surgical rhinoplasty can be performed quickly and conveniently in Dr. Hessler’s office. No general anesthesia is necessary — only a topical numbing agent to keep the nose comfortable during treatment.

Dr. Hessler will carefully inject the pre-selected dermal filler into specific points on and around the nose to achieve the results that will be discussed during your consultation. With non-surgical rhinoplasty, there are many approaches and techniques to use. For instance, filler may be added on the upper or lower nasal bridge to hide the appearance of a bump. Or filler may be used to raise a droopy nasal tip, or re-shape a pointy one. A non-surgical rhinoplasty treatment typically takes about 30 minutes.

What to expect

While traditional rhinoplasty requires a week or greater of downtime and recovery, non-surgical rhinoplasty has very minimal downtime.  Often, patients are able to return to work the same day and resume all normal activities almost immediately after their treatment session.  Minor symptoms include swelling and bruising, which are temporary and can be easily concealed with make-up.

Dermal fillers are temporary so the results of a non-surgical rhinoplasty will also be temporary.  The amount of material used and longevity of the products can vary, but most patients will only use 1 or 2 syringes of filler which can last 6 months to a year, or longer.  Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler that has ideal properties for non-surgical rhinoplasty, and is one of the preferred fillers Dr. Hessler uses for this procedure.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty FAQs:

How does non-surgical rhinoplasty differ from traditional rhinoplasty?

Unlike traditional rhinoplasty, which involves surgical alteration of the nasal structure, non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed using injectable fillers to modify the shape and appearance of the nose. It is a temporary and less invasive alternative to surgery, with minimal downtime and fewer risks.

How long do the results of non-surgical rhinoplasty last?

The results of non-surgical rhinoplasty are temporary and typically last between 6 months to 2 years, depending on the type of filler used, individual metabolism, and other factors. Periodic touch-up treatments may be necessary to maintain the desired results.

Is non-surgical rhinoplasty painful?

Most patients experience minimal discomfort during non-surgical rhinoplasty, as a topical anesthetic is applied to numb the treatment area before the injections. Some mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness may occur after the procedure but typically resolves within a few days.

Can non-surgical rhinoplasty correct functional nasal issues?

No, non-surgical rhinoplasty is primarily a cosmetic procedure and is not intended to correct functional nasal issues such as breathing problems or nasal obstruction. These issues typically require surgical intervention by an otolaryngologist or plastic surgeon.
