Dr. Jill L. Hessler is many things. She is a double-board certified facial plastic surgeon. She is an award-winning teacher and trainer. She is an internationally recognized Beauty Expert and Top Doctor. She is a highly regarded presenter and leader in her field. She is a passionate researcher and progressive overseer. But most of all, she is a gifted medical professional who truly cares about her patients and takes great satisfaction in helping to achieve their desired goals.

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Hessler is a leading facial plastic surgeon who has dedicated her practice to the surgical refinement of the face, eyes, nose, and neck.

Specializing in the latest advances in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Hessler is constantly researching and does many trials to keep her finger on the pulse of the most advanced techniques and treatments.

Education and training

Dr. Hessler received her training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University, one of the highest-ranked training programs in Otolaryngology in the United States. While she enjoyed the complex and varied operations of Otolaryngology, she found her passion to reside in the artistic aspects in the sub-specialty of facial plastic surgery. Dr. Hessler was selected for the highly competitive fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Michigan. During her fellowship, she developed a refined appreciation for the subtleties in aesthetic facial structure and proportion, and it was here that she perfected her surgical skills in cosmetic surgical procedures such as blepharoplasty, facelift, rhinoplasty, laser treatments, and skin cancer reconstruction.

A distinguished leader in her field

Dr. Hessler’s experience includes being chosen as a faculty member at Washington University to specialize in facial plastic and cosmetic surgery. As a member of the faculty, she trained numerous surgeons, lecturing and demonstrating her meticulous technique and approach to cosmetic surgery procedures. She also organizes a course on rhinoplasty in which she and colleagues teach a group of national and international surgeons on the delicate rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty techniques.

Dr. Hessler has also been chosen as faculty for multiple other hands-on courses, training plastic surgeons procedures such as blepharoplasty, facelift, and neck lift. Continuing her involvement in teaching, Dr. Hessler holds an adjunct teaching appointment at Stanford University, lecturing and teaching resident doctors at Stanford plastic surgery techniques.

Not only is Dr. Hessler involved in plastic surgery education in the northern California Bay Area; she also serves on the national level with involvement in committees within the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Awards, honors, and recognition

Dr. Hessler has received numerous honors and awards over the years. She was selected by her peers of other plastic surgeons and physicians as one of the Best Doctors in America, and she has received the Janet Glasgow Women in Medicine Award. She is a frequent speaker at national plastic surgery meetings, with over 75 invited presentations. In addition, she is a trainer for Allergan™ and Galderma. She has helped lead clinical trials — most recently a filler trial demonstrating the safety for use of cannulas with filler. Dr. Hessler currently serves as Chair of the Women on the Facial Plastic Surgery committee at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and has also been featured in numerous media outlets.
