Under the skilled hand of Dr. Hessler, this effective procedure can take years off your face.

What is a temple brow lift?

A temple brow lift is a more limited brow lift with the incision as an extension of facelift incision. The surgery is designed to subtly elevate the outer brow, outer eye area, and upper cheeks; soften crow’s feet, and tighten the area around the temples. The result is a beautifully refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.

Key benefits of a temple brow lift

  • A refreshed, radiant, wider-eyed appearance
  • Minimal downtime
  • Hidden incisions (made behind the hairline)
  • Long-lasting results

Temple brow lift surgical details

A temple brow lift is performed under local anesthesia (injections) and takes approximately one hour. Dr. Hessler will make a small, one-inch incision above the ear, in the hairline just above the forehead.

Through this incision, she can re-position the underlying tissue and suspend it to lift the outside of the brow. Dr. Hessler will also removes excess skin. Once she is finished, the incision will be closed.

Recovery

A temple brow lift is a minimally invasive procedure with a shorter recovery period than more intense surgeries. Your sutures will be removed a week after the procedure, but you can return to work before this. Most patients experience swelling and bruising after a temple brow lift, but keeping your head elevated will help reduce swelling. We recommend waiting two weeks before attempting any strenuous activities such as heavy lifting or exercise.

What procedures can be combined?

Although many patients undergo a temple brow lift by itself, it can be combined with another procedure for enhanced results. Dr. Hessler most commonly combines a temple brow lift with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or a facelift

Is a temple brow lift right for you?

You may be an excellent candidate for a temple brow lift. Ideal candidates for this procedure are those who are healthy non-smokers, and who dislike the sagging appearance around their eyes but who may not want extensive surgery. A temple brow lift is a smaller modification than most brow lifts.
